The rules for using wizodd.us and talking to our mascot Wizodd, in plain English.

The short version
  • This website describes products that are in development. Details, pictures and specifications can change, and nothing here is an offer to sell.
  • The Wizodd mascot is an AI character. He can be wrong, and nothing he says is a promise from Wizodd.
  • If you build or install something, doing it safely is your responsibility.
  • Ideas you send us are welcome, and we may use them freely.
  • Purchases are made in our store, under the store's own terms and our Refund and Cancellation Policy. Unused items can be returned within 30 days.

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between Wizodd Technologies LLC, a Delaware limited liability company ("Wizodd", "we", "us"), and you. They cover this website, wizodd.us, including the contact form and the Wizodd mascot. By using the website you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

  • The store. Our store at shop.wizodd.us has its own terms, which apply to anything you buy there. Our Refund and Cancellation Policy explains cancelling orders, returns and refunds.
  • powerconnect. Our monitoring service for businesses has its own terms and refund policy at wizoddtechnologies.com.
  • Privacy. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.
2. What this website is

This website tells you about Wizodd and the products we are working on. The products shown are in development.

  • Descriptions, dimensions, features and specifications can change before a product is released, and a product may never be released.
  • Product pictures are computer renderings and may differ from the finished product.
  • Nothing on this website is an offer to sell, a price, a delivery date or a warranty. What is for sale, and on what terms, is shown in the store.
3. The Wizodd mascot

The Wizodd mascot is the talking character on our home page. His answers are written by an AI model (Claude, from Anthropic) and spoken with a synthetic voice (from ElevenLabs). You are talking to software, not to a person.

  • He can be wrong. His answers are generated from what we have told him about Wizodd. They can be incomplete, out of date or simply wrong. Check anything important with us through the contact page.
  • No promises. He cannot take orders, quote prices, agree to anything or make commitments for Wizodd. Nothing he says changes these Terms or creates a warranty.
  • Not professional advice. He does not give electrical, safety, legal, financial or medical advice.
  • Keep it sensible. Do not tell him anything private, and do not try to make him produce unlawful, harmful or abusive content.
  • Availability. We may limit, change or switch off the mascot at any time.
4. Building and installing is your responsibility

Wizodd makes things for people who build and run their own smart homes. Information on this website is general information for hobbyists, not instructions for your particular home.

  • You are responsible for how you assemble, install, power and use anything you build or buy.
  • Follow the manufacturers' instructions for the boards and displays you use, and the building and electrical rules where you live. Where those rules call for a qualified or licensed person, such as for work inside a wall, use one.
  • Nothing described on this website is a fire, security, medical or other life-safety system, and it must not be relied on as one.
5. Acceptable use

When you use this website, do not:

  • break the law or anyone else's rights;
  • try to get into our systems, interfere with the website, or probe it for weaknesses without our written permission;
  • send spam, advertising or automated messages through the contact form or the mascot;
  • overload the website or the mascot, or use automated tools to send him questions in bulk;
  • pretend to be someone else, or send us anything false, abusive or harmful.

We may block access to the website for anyone who does.

6. Ideas and messages you send us

We ask the community what to build, and we are glad when you tell us. If you send us an idea, suggestion or other feedback, you agree that we may use it freely, in any way, without owing you payment, credit or anything else, and that it is not confidential. Please do not send us anything you want kept secret or that belongs to someone else.

7. Our content and other people's names

The text, pictures, product designs and the Wizodd mascot character on this website are the work of Wizodd Technologies LLC or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. You may view the website and share links to it. Please ask before copying or reusing its content for anything else.

Home Assistant, ESP32, Waveshare, Sensirion, HomeTiles, AMX, Lutron, YouTube, Shopify and other product and company names on this website belong to their owners. We name them to say what our products work with and where we have worked. Wizodd is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by any of them. The screens in our product pictures show HomeTiles, an open-source dashboard by its own author, used under its MIT license.

8. Links to other websites

This website links to other websites, such as our store, YouTube and GitHub. We do not control websites run by other companies, and their own terms and privacy policies apply when you use them.

9. Disclaimers

This website, its content and the Wizodd mascot are provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, Wizodd disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not promise that the website will always be available, free of errors or secure, or that the information on it is complete or current.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows:

  • Wizodd is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data or damage to property, arising from your use of this website or from relying on anything on it, including anything the Wizodd mascot says;
  • Wizodd's total liability for all claims arising from your use of this website is limited to US $100.

These limits apply to this website only. Anything you buy from us is covered by the terms it is sold under. Some places do not allow some of these limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you, and nothing in these Terms takes away rights the law says cannot be taken away.

11. Changes

We may change or remove any part of this website at any time. We may also change these Terms. If we do, we will post the new version here and change the effective date at the top. Using the website after a change means you accept the new Terms.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute about these Terms or this website will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you and Wizodd agree to those courts. If you are a consumer, this does not take away any protection the law where you live gives you and that cannot be waived by agreement.

13. General
  • If a court finds part of these Terms unenforceable, the rest still applies.
  • If we do not enforce a part of these Terms, we have not given up the right to enforce it later.
  • These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between you and Wizodd about this website.
